International aircraft simulation software maker CAE opened the company’s first West Coast training center in Clark County across from Harry Reid International Airport in April 2023. The 50,000-square-foot facility includes seven state-of-the-art flight simulators and classroom space to educate more than 2,000 pilots a year. The company boasts an impressive average hourly wage of more than $55 and beat its own growth goals by hiring more than 100 employees in the first few months of operation.

But many daily items, including cell phones and electronics, are also powered by lithium-ion technology. Lithion Battery, located in Henderson, operates a manufacturing facility that focuses on producing batteries, battery packs, and energy storage systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. A second Henderson factory will produce cylindrical cells that will be used in their battery packs, a first-of-its-kind facility outside China.

The personal injury journey can be extremely daunting, but a Las Vegas based tech startup is working to make it more accessible. Quilia is a client management app that automates treatment tracking and improves the personal injury process for both clients and attorneys. The app features a personalized dashboard allowing clients to view all their case information in one place, an expense tracker for logging medical bills, a medical tracker to record medical treatments, and a daily record to provide detailed updates on injuries and pain levels. The company is among a growing number of tech startups calling the Las Vegas valley home.

The idea for Boxabl didn’t start as an idea, it started as a problem: affordable housing. Paolo and Galiano Tiramani founded Boxabl in 2017, with the goal of making housing accessible to everyone. The company manufactures prefabricated homes (also known as Accessory Dwelling Units) on a factory assembly line, and then boxes up the homes to be shipped to clients across the U.S. The company opened its first factory in North Las Vegas in 2021, a second and third factory nearby in 2023, and is looking at a possible fourth facility in the region. 

Sunshine Minting, the world’s leading supplier of silver and gold products and a full-serve precious metals minting facility, has been producing large volumes of high-quality blanks, coins, bars, and medallions in Henderson since 2009. With customers including governments, financial institutions, and corporations, Sunshine Minting provides semi or fully furnished coins to five sovereign governments, including the U.S. Mint. The company moved into their current 142,000 square foot location in 2019, which houses its corporate offices, a state-of-the-art design facility, and a modern machine and tool shop.
