Living in Las Vegas: Unique and Diverse Neighborhoods For You and Your Family

Those unfamiliar with the Las Vegas housing market might assume locals live on the Strip. While that’s an option, most locals choose to live in one of the valley’s many diverse neighborhoods. Whether you’re looking for a suburban, family-friendly vibe or a hip urban scene, Las Vegas has a neighborhood to appeal to nearly every type of individual or family. Let’s explore across Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Clark County, and Summerlin.

Summerlin | Clark County & Las Vegas

The valley’s largest master-planned community, Summerlin, sits on the west side of the valley in the shadow of the Spring Mountains and within a stone’s throw of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, with its soaring red rocks that draw tourists from across the world. The 22,500-acre multi-generational community boasts 21 unique neighborhoods, 250 parks, 150 miles of trails, nine golf courses, and Downtown Summerlin, a vibrant, walkable urban shopping center in the heart of the community.

Skye Canyon | Northwest Las Vegas

On the edge of the northwest valley lies Skye Canyon, which bills itself as ‘a base camp for the great outdoors.’ The neighborhood made designated bike lanes, walking paths, and parks a priority, along with the 10,000-square-foot Skye Fitness Center. The community also hosts annual outdoor activities such as Fit Fest and Skye & Stars in partnership with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society. The Skye Pass, which is exclusive to residents, provides special pricing on various activities at Lee Canyon at Mt. Charleston, proving the neighborhood is an ideal choice for families and individuals who love outdoor adventures.
